Today

As far back as I can remember I was determined to make my today better. I was born with a determination to live every day to the fullest.

Day to Day Challenges

In my younger days as a High School student I appeared indifferent to the bullying, lack of care by the teachers, and my family life. Deep down inside me I had buried thoughts, concerns, heartache; not knowing one day they would awaken and return to haunt me.

Panic Attacks

I was a Mother to four young children when the panic attacks reared their ugly head. I dealt with them the only way I could. With the support of my husband we went the route of hypnotherapy. This is when it was confirmed that I had hidden my darkest and saddest experiences in my subconscious.

I wanted to live another day. I wanted to enjoy living another day. This is when I discovered what being resilient meant. I was able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult situations.

Today

All the challenges that I have battled, I have overcome. Divorce, Cancer, Financial, Health.

Some of those challenges were short term, some long term. Some I had to learn how to live with and accept. This has given me my “Today”, time and time again.

Making my Today Better

Feeling better, feeling stronger is not an easy process. I may feel angry for a while. I may sob my heart out. I know that if I want my today to be better it’s up to me to make that happen.

Here are some of the steps I took to reinforce the fact I am responsible for making my today better:

  • Accept that each day is a gift.
  • One day at a time.
  • Enjoy every minute of today.
  • Work with your challenges.
  • Control the fear that lives in your thoughts.
  • Ask for help.

You will find your way to make your today better. Focus on the positives in your life first and foremost. Stay committed to facing your challenges, take back the control you felt you had lost.

Always be thankful for today.
